Liverpool Bans 75 Fans for Life

Liverpool Football Club has intensified its crusade against ticket touting, issuing lifetime bans to 75 fans and revoking over 1,500 tickets. This stringent measure is part of the club’s commitment to protecting genuine supporters and combating fraudulent ticket resales.

The Anfield outfit has also blocked nearly 100,000 fake accounts and invested in advanced “anti-touting measures” to tackle digital fraud and online ticket scams. A further 5,670 accounts are currently under review for suspicious activity.

In a statement, Liverpool FC emphasized its zero-tolerance approach to ticket touting, stating that the majority of lifetime bans and indefinite suspensions were handed down for unauthorized selling of season tickets, memberships, or hospitality tickets.

This move follows a broader trend among Premier League clubs, with Arsenal introducing similar measures to curb unauthorized ticket sales. Arsenal recently banned numerous supporters for selling tickets to opposition fans and withdrew 24 season tickets from fans who failed to meet attendance criteria.

Liverpool’s firm stance aims to ensure fairness and equity in ticket distribution, particularly for local fans. The club has introduced a new ballot system, incorporating anti-bot technology to enhance the process.

Supporters are urged to purchase tickets only through official channels to avoid falling victim to counterfeit ticket scams.

Liverpool’s crackdown on ticket touts serves as a warning to those engaging in fraudulent activities, prioritizing the safety and fairness of genuine supporters.

Liverpool’s next match at Anfield is against Brighton on Saturday.
